Veneela Ammula

Veneela Ammula is currently a senior engineer within the ABS Americas technology energy transition team in Houston, researching the landscape of maritime electrification including port decarbonization in the US. Veneela is an experienced electrical engineer with 10+ years experience in marine and offshore electrical power systems, automation and cybersecurity. She has extensive experience in the plan review of electrical and automation systems for the marine and offshore industries. She also led the Complex Systems initiative as part of the latest ABS rule enhancements, where she incorporated goal-based standards into the ABS Rules based on the IMO's guidelines and developed rule requirements, internal procedures and training material for computer-based systems to support ABS. Veneela holds a bachelor's degree in electrical and electronics engineering from Osmania University, India, and a master's degree in electrical engineering from Auburn University, Alabama.
