Xiaoli Mao

Xiaoli Mao is a Lead on the Marine team and Co-cluster Coordinator for the Hydrogen and Fuel Cells Cluster. She leads and supports research on maritime policies promoting zero-emission vessels, regulating vessel emissions and efficiency, and maintains the team’s modeling tool. She has a regional focus on China. Ms. Mao joined the ICCT in 2015. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a Master’s degree in Public Policy and also holds a dual bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science & Engineering and Economics from Xiamen University (China).

In this presentation, Xiaoli Mao, Marine Program Lead of The International Council on Clean Transportation discusses how they use real world data and techno-economic analysis to help the shipping industry move towards decarbonization in a Paris-aligned pathway. She will also provide some ideas to prioritize the choice of fuel and propulsion technologies.
