The first electric motor designed for marine thruster use
Sleipner
Sleipner will reveal its new E-series bow and stern thrusters, incorporating the first electric motor designed specifically for marine thruster use. Its engineers have developed a highly efficient, compact and lightweight electric motor that the company says is up to 50% lighter and uses up to 40% less volume than comparable models.
Sleipner is also launching the third generation of its award-winning Vector Fins at this year’s expo, further enhancing the market-leading efficiency of the patented geometry that eliminates so many of the commonly known drawbacks of straight fins.
As the market increasingly looks toward hybrid and electric drive solutions, Vector Fins will soon be available with a compact, custom-made electric actuator with a patent-pending noise-reducing solution.
