Lithium Werks and Super B agree to merge

Energy management company Lithium Werks, which earlier this year acquired the assets of Valence Technology and the industrial business of A123 Systems, is merging with fellow lithium battery developer Super B.

As such, the new company, called Lithium Werks BV, will be able to offer nanophosphate cells from two battery system suppliers (Valence and Super B). Following the merger, the new company now has more than 400 patents for lithium technology, will serve more than 1,000 customers in nearly 50 countries and offers jobs to over 550 employees.

“Our strategic partnership has evolved,” said T Joseph Fisher III, CEO and co-founder of Lithium Werks. “We now know that the best way for us to meet our customers’ growing demand for portable power solutions is to join forces. Together, we will facilitate a global transition to clean power, using nanotechnology and smart software to improve efficiency of transporting goods, people and energy.”
