Sverre Eriksen

Sverre has an MSc in electric power engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. He joined DNV in 2008. He is a specialist in battery systems and has been responsible for developing the DNV class rules for battery-powered ships since 2011. He works with the certification of battery systems and the DNV classification of many ships with batteries. In addition, he is involved in DNV investigations of incidents with batteries installed on DNV-classed ships.

This presentation will focus on the threats and barriers that must be considered to make a safe battery installation on a ship. It will address the latest DNV class rules for EES systems and the new DNV class guideline 'Safety philosophy for EES systems'.
