12 hours of pure electric sailing
EST-Floattech - Stand E4020
The MPV-30 hybrid multi-purpose vessels are the biggest hybrid vessels in the Netherlands and are capable of sailing fully electric for 12 hours. They are equipped with EST-Floattech’s Green Orca high-power batteries, and the company will present the latest generation of the technology at Electric & Hybrid Marine World Expo.
The new safety standards of the high-energy battery, which has received NMA propagation highest approval and DNV-GL type approval, mean the Green Orca is able to safely withstand a full thermal runaway, remaining in full control. It has a gas exhaust system for eliminating hazardous, flammable gases during a thermal runaway, and comprises a fully passive protection system.
Representatives will demonstrate that to offer maximum safety, thermal runaway protection should not be dependent on an external system such as a BMS, cooling system or external fire extinguisher, but should instead be an intrinsic element of the design itself.
